Each session is divided into:
How does Social and Play Group work?
Each group consists of 3 children with Autism and 3 without.
Each group is held once a week (45 minutes) with a duration period of 4 months (16 sessions).
The sessions are developed and organised by a Team of Specialists in Autism Spectrum Disorder (Psychologist, Speech Therapists and Special Education Teacher).

The Autism Assessment Support Practice Team has designed and developed four Social Programs for children and teenagers with Autism and related developmental delays, and two
programs for parents and professionals. The programs are organized based on the children’s ages, environment and needs.
The programs are as follows:
1. Play and Social Groups Part A (3-9 years old) – emphasizing indoor skills. (starts January, 2010)
2. Play and Social Groups Part B (3-9 years old) – emphasizing outdoor skills. (starts January, 2010)
3. Teenager’s Social Groups for Boys (9-16 years old) – emphasizing motor, social, language and cognitive development. (starts end of February,2010)
4. Teenager’s Social Groups for Girls (9-16 years old) – emphasizing motor, social, language and cognitive development. (starts end of February, 2010)
5. How to play with your child? (parents with children of ages 3-9 years old only) (starts January , 2010)
6. How to organize Play and Social Groups? (professionals only for children of ages 3-9 years old only) (starts January, 2010)
The Play and Social Groups are also divided in subgroups based on their ages in each group there are 3 children with and 3 without Autism.
Each group has no more than 6 children and at least 2 therapists.
For the Teenager’s Social Groups the participants are ONLY children that belong to the Asperger’s Syndrome.
